I'm a Kiwi!

Zander got a package from his Aunty Rachael and cousins Simone and Dylan. They sent him some New Zealand staples that every kiwi baby should have. For now he will be sporting his New Zealand gear, but in no time he will be eating Marmite on toast, watching the All Blacks play rugby, sipping hot Milo drinks, saying things like "bala legs" and "munga", snacking on cheezels with his mummy, and traveling to New Zealand to meet all his family.

2 Months Old!

Time sure does fly by. My baby is already 2 months old! He had his two month appointment with Dr. Jones and got 3 shots in his chubby little legs. Poor thing screamed louder than I've ever heard him scream before! The worst part is that I had to hold his hands down and look straight into those puppy dog eyes as it was being done. He was a trooper though and calmed down as soon as I picked him up. He slept the rest of the day. Here are some two month stats on Mr. Z.
* Weighs 8 lbs and is 20 1/4 inches long
* Smiles when I clap his hands together
* Drinks 3 oz every 3 hours
* Makes eye contact and looks around when he hears noises
* Still hates getting his diaper changed
* Already rolled off the couch (sorry baby!)
* Out grew his premie clothes and is in newborn sizes

Zander loves his daddy

They Do Grow Like Weeds

Zander at 1 week
Zander at 8 weeks
I think it's time to retire these pjs.

Zander fell asleep while I was feeding him. Not even milk dripping out of his mouth could wake him up.

Zander had his first pool experience today. I put his feet in the water and he loved it! Can't wait for him to fit into swim diapers and we can get in all the way.
This face is hilarious!
With cousin Clayton. He is excited for when Zander can get in and play with him.

My child is talented! No need for us to hold his bottle. The pure power of his sucking can keep the bottle straight in the air. Don't know why, but this made me laugh hysterically tonight.

He's Getting Bigger!

Zander doesn't fit his small preemie clothes anymore. Doesn't he look so big and long in these cute pjs? In another month he will finally fit into his newborn size clothes.

Love this photo of my two guys.

Who Does Zander Look Like?

I've been looking through our baby photos to see who Zander resembles.  What do you think?

My New Do

My hair is short again and I love it!

I saw a cute short do on another blog and knew I wanted it cut right away. Thank goodness my sister- in-law Megan is a hair dresser and lives down the street. I was able to get it cut a few days later. Devin was a bit shocked since I didn't tell him I was getting it done.

I think I might keep my hair short in the summers and then grow it in the winters. It's so easy to do and it's nice to not have long hair on my neck when it's 115 degrees outside.

Crying Faces

Zander looked so sweet today in his swing that I couldn't resist taking some pictures. All of a sudden he started crying and I love his crying face. It is so cute! Here are a few crying shots. Am I a mean mom for continuing to snap pictures instead of console my baby?
His after bath crying face. He hates to be naked!
After spitting up on himself. It was all over.

Zander's New Friend

He loves his monkey! Plus it helps keep his pacifier in his mouth. Thanks Aunt Patrina!

In this corner....

Weighing in at 6 lbs 1 oz is Zander! He is starting to get some meat on those bones.

4th of July

I love the 4th of July! Food, family, friends, fireworks, and no work. When we thought Zander was arriving around June 30, we thought it would be great if he could wait around and be born on the 4th. What a cool birthday that would have been. Now his birthday will fall on Memorial Day in May every few years. It's still a holiday.

This year for the 4th, we went with the Merrill clan to Pinetop and rented a cabin. It was Zander's first road trip and he did really well. Here we are on the way there.

Pinetop was beautiful with cool weather. Once we got to the cabin, we went for a walk and found the old Merrill family cabin in the same neighborhood. The new owners fixed it up and it looks amazing! Devin used to spend a lot of summers and 4th of Julys at this cabin growing up. There is a lake right up the street where he would skip rocks with his siblings and cousins. We all wish we still owned this cabin.

On Saturday, we went to the parade in ShowLow and Mum and Al met us there. The parade was a bit slow, but what can you expect from a small town. It was still fun.

We went back to the cabin for a bbq and some relaxation.

We ended the night with some go-kart racing, ice-cream, and a movie.

For the 4th of July, we went to Sunrise Resort and rode the ski lift to the top of the mountain. Zander slept through the whole thing. Devin and I had never been to the resort in the summertime. It was beautiful!

We went to the lake again before we headed home. Devin went fishing and I layed on the blanket by the lake. I wish we could move to the cool mountains!

We had a great weekend with family! Can't wait until next year when Zander will be crawling or walking around. Happy 4th of July.
