23 Months

This month has flown by and I can't believe in less than 30 days we will have a 2 year old. This is what's been up with Zander this past month.
* Nothings been happening on the potty training front. Zander uses the potty as a chair, he fills it with his toys, and sometimes takes off the seat portion and wears it as a hat. I guess it will be baby steps with this one. * His Aunty Megan watches him during the day now and he gets to do lots of fun things with his cousins Jayden and Tage. I have to laugh when I go to pick him up and Jayden wants to know why I'm there and why I'm taking Zander home. I'm glad they love playing together. * He started the month acting like a different person. He just wanted to be held, he was grumpy and threw tantrums, and he had no appetite. We soon found out that he is cutting his 2nd molars. Slowly he's been returning to the smiley and happy Zander we love. * Grabs your hand and says "Come on" and "Lets Go" when he wants you to do something. When you don't get up, he tries to physically lift up your body and make you. * Lots and lots of new words and he is even starting to form sentences. I'm amazed when he says new words that I've never heard before even when they are simple things like t.v. * I think he's been going through a growth spurt. He'll fall asleep early in the afternoon and not wake up until the morning. Plus he's eating everything in sight. * Took his first trip to Disneyland with his two grandmas and saw Mickey Mouse. * When we aren't with Devin, anyone we see with brown spikey hair is dad. * Loves our dates to Costco to eat churros. *

Alice & Geoff
Zander loved riding on the jet ski in the no wake zone, but didn't like going fast.
The Clawsons
Alice
Bristol and Zander
The guys - Jason, Geoff, and Devin who is sitting in our new camping chair. Who needs a canopy when your chair comes with an umbrella.
Me & Charlotte.
Shortly after taking this picture, the jet ski in the background flipped over. I have no idea why it would do that. ha ha
After housing Devin's broken jet ski in our garage for the last 5 years, we finally got it fixed and enjoyed our first lake trip of the season. I'm looking forward to many more trips this summer and lots of time relaxing by the water working on my tan.

My friend just sent me these pictures of Zander from last year. He is so little! This was back when he had 6 teeth and his curly hair was just starting to show. I miss having him this little.

Devin's job had an awards dinner at the Pointe South Hilton in Scottsdale. They recognized and honored the systems and development teams for their work in the upcoming product release of their software. Devin had no idea that he would be getting an award, so it was a nice surprise when they called his team up to the podium first. It made me so happy to see Devin being recognized, especially since it's at a job that he absolutely loves!

California Adventure Day 3 - Orange County Great Park

Our last day was perfect. Perfect weather. Perfect activities. We joked that we did all of our activities on the wrong day. Rain at Disney. Cold & windy at the beach. It was true, but we still had fun. I wouldn't have wanted to change our activities around because then we would have missed the Orange County Great Park.
The park is built on the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro in Irvine. While it's only in the first phase of building the park will be twice the size of Central Park when it's completed.
While at the park, we rode the Great Park Balloon. It is a large helium balloon that is tethered to the ground and goes 400 feet up in the air. Zander wasn't too sure about the balloon and wanted to be held the whole time. I thought it was a great way to see the entire park and experience a beautiful view of the mountains surrounding Orange County. After we rode the balloon and carousel (both which were free!), we enjoyed walking around the farmers market which occurs each Sunday. We were beyond full trying samples of fruits, breads, and sweets and topped off the morning by grabbing lunch at the wide variety of food trucks there. Our trip was too short, but we really enjoyed spending the weekend with Zander and our moms. Can't wait for our next family vacation.
