* He spent a week with his Aunty Kylie and Powell cousins while we were in NYC. While there he learned the phrase "Get the cups" which are the cups we take to the movie theaters for $1 refills. He yells this anytime we go to the movies now. * His nightly routine includes a bath and watching Nack (Nick at Night). Favorite series is Full House. * He celebrated his birthday with a party with his cousins and friends. We watched Despicable Me in anticipation of the sequel coming out in July. * He likes to tell us "Sh!" which he'll hold his finger up to his mouth to indicate it too. * His sitter doesn't work Wednesdays in the summer so he started going to Mimi's house once a week. Mimi bought the summer movie pass at Harkins so he gets to go to the movies weekly. He now thinks he should go to the movies all the time and is upset when we go to the mall and don't go to the movies. * He dislikes getting into the bath, but we've been giving him toys which we pretend to wash at the same time. *

With all of our summer out of town trips, we haven't been able to go to the lake as often as we'd like. We jumped at the chance to celebrate Ashlee's birthday at Canyon Lake. I didn't even get one picture of the birthday girl as she was busy entertaining her friends and spent the majority of the day on the water.

New York City - Day 6
On our final morning, we woke up early and headed to the Today Show. We went on the first morning we arrived in the city, but wanted to go back to see the regular hosts and get on tv. We did it too! We were only on for a brief moment, but you can catch us me waving frantically behind the hosts. After the show we were on a search for a Cronut (a cross between a croissant and donut), but were unlucky on our search. I finished up work while Devin wandered the city before we headed back to JFK and headed home. The trip was awesome! On our list of travel places, NYC has to be one of my favorites.

New York City - Day 5
The first pizzeria in the US! |
This is our last full day and night in NYC. At this point, Devin was starting to get bored being alone all day. We have lots of photos of random people as he liked people watching around town. He spent the day at the Transit museum and visited the first pizzeria in the US.
The whole time in the city, we wanted to see a Broadway show. With Newsies being one of my favorite musicals, we decided to see this one. The best part was scoring $30 standing tickets!
We finished the night with dinner at the Shake Shack and one last view of Times Square.

New York City - Day 4
The look of a $17 pastrami sandwich |
We sat at the same table from "When Harry Met Sally" |
We went all over the city on our 4th night. We first started with dinner at Katz Delicatessen. This diner was made famous by "When Harry Met Sally" and was on a list of NYC must eats for their pastrami sandwich. It was good. It was also $17! We sat at the famous table, but was a little embarrassed to take pictures since there were so many people around us. Yep, we are tourists.
After dinner we headed to High Line Park. It is built on an historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. We took a leisurely walk along the park admiring the city lights.
Our night wasn't over yet though. We headed uptown to Serendipty 3 for their frozen hot chocolate.
