Nephi Visit Primary

Nephi found time in his busy schedule to visit the kids in primary today. He shared his story on following the Lord's commandments and building a ship for his family. The kids were excited for him and are pumped for Book of Mormon camp this summer.

Joe's Farm Grill

We went to Joe's Farm Grill to celebrate Megan and Nan's birthday. We've eaten at Joe's BBQ and Liberty Market in Gilbert, but hadn't visited this sister restaurant before. It has been featured on The Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri so we knew it would be good food. There was a huge line outside when we got there and it continued through the night. Devin tried the barbecue chicken pizza and I had the farm burger with fries. Delicious! The atmosphere was so cute with picnic tables outside underneath the huge shade trees and lights. We will definitely go back.

Happy Mother's Day

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a Mom -
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.
Before I was a Mom -
I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never been puked on - Pooped on - Spit on - Chewed on, or Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and My thoughts. I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom -
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests...or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom -
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life
so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known The warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

I celebrated my first Mother's Day today with breakfast in bed with my two guys. We went to Megan & Eddie's ward to hear them speak on motherhood and they did an amazing job. Megan included the poem above in her talk and the words are so perfect. I am so thankful that Heavenly Father has allowed me to be a mom. It is the hardest, yet most rewarding job ever. I am thankful for all the amazing moms that I have in my life. Mum, DeeDee, Kylie, Nicole, Nan, Grandma Betty, Megan. I have learned so much from all of you and you make me strive to be a better mom everyday. I have absolutely loved the past 2 years of being pregnant and having Zander with us and I cannot wait to continue to add to our family.

11 Months Old

Weighs approx 18.5 lbs. * Always has a smile on his face. * Likes to take showers with us. If we don't let him in, he'll stand by the door and cry. When we do open the door, he'll crawl right in - clothes and all. * Shreds toliet paper and wipes. If we can't find him and it's quiet, he is normally in the corner with a tissue box or the wipes making a mess. * Such a jibber-jabber these days. * Wants to share whatever he is eating or drinking with you. * Enjoys going to the pool to swim and people watch. * Loves the iPad. *  Has learned how to click his tongue. *

Easter

Work Family Picnic

My work held it's 3rd Annual Family Picnic on April 21 at Tempe Kiwanis Park. I was excited to introduce Devin and Zander to my coworkers. We ate pulled pork sandwiches, mingled with my coworkers, and enjoyed the huge park together.

Cousins Day at the Farm

A few weeks ago, Zander got to visit a dairy farm with Mimi, Aunty Megan, and his cousins Jayden and Tage. Everyone had a good time seeing and feeding the animals.
Missing days like this makes me wish I was able to stay at home with him. I am lucky to have a job that I like and enables me to support my family while Devin is still at school. Soon enough I'll be able to be at home with my baby (and babies to come!).
