California Adventure Day 2 - Laguna Beach & Discovery Science Museum

We were happy to see it was sunny on our second day as I wanted to take Zander to the beach. We packed up the car and headed down PCH to Laguna Beach. I was a bit bummed that it was windy and cold, but I loved browsing all the cute shops. We found a great candy store with every kind of taffy imaginable and it even had some of our favorite lollies from New Zealand. After buying way too much candy, we headed to the beach. It was amazing to see the beautiful coastline and watch the dolphins ride in on the waves. We didn't get to play in the water or in the sand due to the weather though. I guess this means that we need to plan another trip to So Cal soon!
After changing our plans to find something to do indoors, we decided on the Discovery Science Museum in Santa Ana. They had a ton of exhibits - Dora the Explorer, BubbleFest, NFL Hockey, and Star Wars - which kept us busy and warm for the rest of the day.

California Adventure Day 1 - Disneyland

They brought Captain EO back!

We took Zander for his first trip to California and Disneyland with his Grandmas. On our first day, we went to Disneyland and California Adventure. While rain was in the forecast, we thought it would be better to beat the crowds if it meant a little rain during the day. For most of the day, it drizzled and we enjoyed the short lines. Zander loved the carousel, Peter Pan, Dumbo, It's A Small World, and the singing birds in the Tiki Room. We hit some of the park classics including the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, and Star Tours. Disney brought back the 3D show Captain EO with Michael Jackson, which was one of Devin's favorite shows growing up. The highlight of the day was watching Zander meet Mickey. He was a little unsure at first, but then gave Mickey a high five and a huge hug. The smile on his face made the whole trip worth it.

Easter

Ashlee & Scott's Wedding

Ashlee & Scott were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple on Saturday. The 50's vintage theme reception was gorgeous. Every detail was planned out perfectly - from the Sweet Shop filled with candy and pies, the Lemonade and Root beer stations, the food menu with BBQ sliders and potato chips, and all the vintage decorations. We all had so much fun, especially Zander who danced the night away on the dance floor.
