California Adventure Day 3 - Orange County Great Park

Our last day was perfect. Perfect weather. Perfect activities. We joked that we did all of our activities on the wrong day. Rain at Disney. Cold & windy at the beach. It was true, but we still had fun. I wouldn't have wanted to change our activities around because then we would have missed the Orange County Great Park.
The park is built on the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro in Irvine. While it's only in the first phase of building the park will be twice the size of Central Park when it's completed.
While at the park, we rode the Great Park Balloon. It is a large helium balloon that is tethered to the ground and goes 400 feet up in the air. Zander wasn't too sure about the balloon and wanted to be held the whole time. I thought it was a great way to see the entire park and experience a beautiful view of the mountains surrounding Orange County. After we rode the balloon and carousel (both which were free!), we enjoyed walking around the farmers market which occurs each Sunday. We were beyond full trying samples of fruits, breads, and sweets and topped off the morning by grabbing lunch at the wide variety of food trucks there. Our trip was too short, but we really enjoyed spending the weekend with Zander and our moms. Can't wait for our next family vacation.
