New York City - Day 2

The New Freedom Tower
911 Memorial Reflection Pool
Survivor Tree at the 911 Memorial Complex
After a good night's rest, we were ready to take day two by storm. We left around 9 and didn't get back to the hotel until after midnight. Such a fun filled packed day of site seeing.

- NBC Studio Tour - The couch potato in me loved walking around the halls of 30 Rock. We were able to see some incredible studios including Jimmy Fallon, SNL, and Dateline.
- NY Water Taxi tour - We were able to see the city from the water. My favorite part was the Statue of Liberty. Ellis Island was closed due to hurricane damage so this was the only way to see the iconic statue. She was smaller than I imagined.
- 9/11 Memorial - This was a very somber experience. I kept thinking about that fateful day back in 2001 and the images that will forever be engrained in my mind. It was crazy to think that I was in the same place that this all happened. The reflection pools that now stand where each of the buildings were are a beautiful tribute to all those that were lost.
- Brooklyn Bridge - This was my favorite thing from our trip. We ate at Grimaldi's Pizzeria under the bridge, grabbed ice cream at Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, and hung out at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Around sunset, we walked across the bridge back into the city.
- Top of the Rock - We wanted to see views of the City at night and what better place than the top of the Rockefeller Center. We spied Central Park, the Empire State Building, Times Square, and lots of other magnificent buildings.
